Berlin is a city that oozes street art, from professional paintings on the Berlin Wall, to murals on buildings and random surprises throughout the city. The most common form of street art found in Berlin is the hand drawn and painted, not always so legal kind. Welcome to Berlin, a living graffiti art gallery.
Identifying our apartment to friends was easy – look for the doors with the lightning and rain clouds on them, beside the declaration of love.
Graffiti is sprinkled all over Berlin, like on the back of the famous artist residence, Tacheles.
Or on the side of a building next to an empty lot.
On a wall beside a playground.
On store fronts and roller doors.
And covering the abandoned buildings turned popular night clubs (and a skating rink) just off Revaler Straße – a mecca for graffiti enthusiasts.
You never know who or what you’ll encounter on Berlin’s walls.
What a great collection. You must have had fun with this.
Yes it was fun, Berlin is such a great city to explore.
