While autumn has been getting well and truly settled in with temperatures dropping and leaves changing colour, I’ve been reminiscing about spring. The blossoms here in Spain may not rival those of Japan or South Korea, but they’re still beautiful and an exciting sign that the dark and frigid mornings of winter have come to an end.
Last spring I headed out for a walk between Colmenar de Oreja and its neighbour Chinchón, two villages famously linked by paths lined with blossoms.
The walk wasn’t only about spring flowers though, it also took us back in time through the Plaza Mayor.
And it took us into caves to try the local wine.
So while the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, I’ll be waiting for the first buds to burst and the pastel colours of spring to return to my beloved Madrid.
Really pretty. Inspiring.
