If spending anywhere between 14 to 18 hours over two days on a boat sounds like a nightmare to you, then the slow boat from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang is not for you. For me it was something I’d been excited about doing since deciding to travel to Southeast Asia. Armed with a couple of books and some delicious Lao baguettes, this was our view as we embarked on this epic journey down the Mekong.
