When I first arrived at the Fushimi Inari Shrine I was ready to turn around and leave again - it felt like everyone within a 100km radius arrived at the same time as me. But start walking, and then keep walking. With over 10,000 torii on the paths to the summit you’re sure to get a moment of peace as most tourists turn around after 10-15 minutes walking. It’s well worth the wait!

It’s hard to take a bad photo of Mt Fuji, it seems like everywhere you go nature has planned the perfect frame to show off just how pretty it is 😍

Let’s hope 2021 brings more time in bamboo forests, or at least some of the zen vibes that you get when walking through them 💚

I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: even the manhole covers are beautiful in Japan. It’s a country where you can see that they’ve thought about all the small details and you need to keep looking to find them!

As the sun gets closer to setting on 2020, here’s a photo of a sunset from 2019, in Kyoto. I started 2020 with great goals (including a lot of travelling), however 2020 had its own plans. For 2021 I’ve simplified my goals to being healthy, happy and laughing a lot, I wish the same to you and you families too!

Sometimes when travelling, the weather doesn’t work out the way you planned and this is the view you get of Mt Fuji. We were lucky that we had beautiful views of Fujisan without clouds on our first day there so we didn’t mind seeing the mountain hiding behind clouds. It meant we didn’t get great views from up Mt Fuji, but that turned into a blustery adventure in itself! 🗻🌨

Don’t just go and see Mt Fuji, take a couple of photos, and jump on the Shinkansen to your next destination.

My first view of magnificent Mount Fuji may not be your typical Fuji photo, but it was our first full view of the mountain after getting off the bus from Tokyo. I thought it was pretty amazing.

Remember how I said that walking around Buenos Aires felt like I was stepping into and out of a magical world? That’s exactly how I felt when I came across the giant Floralis Genérica, a giant flower with petals that open and close depending on the time of day!
